Introduction
The organization change
requires Dr. Grant to examine the quality as well as coverage of their existing
health care services. One of the problems to deal with includes reduction of
healthcare expenses, locating new directions of movement towards the influence
of change. Dr. Grant should also deal with developing new relationships so that
he can nurture the existing healthcare environment. The healthcare organization
faces problems on decision making especially in determining which change to
adopt. Dr. Grant is faced with a dichotomous decision to implement the change
in leadership as well as the change management.
Statement
of Problem
The healthcare
organization where Dr. Grant is working is facing various challenges from a
wide variety of sources as well as directions. Organization problem is
originating from internal healthcare settings. The challenges include changing
of appropriate technology to fit healthcare standards, the problems of the need
to provide satisfying community needs, meeting the increasing client demands in
healthcare, difficulties in managing and controlling funds for administrative
to ensure available resources are enough (Hughes R., 2008). Dr. Grant is also
facing the problem with changes in social organization and structure.
Generating
Alternatives
One of the strategies
that Dr. Grant should take includes adapting to new technology and embracing
new changes regardless of their specific origin such as healthcare information
system. He should ensure that the company has continuously adapted to new
changes constantly especially within the organization. Dr. Grant should ensure the entire organization
is facing a unique responsibility in facilitating effective and efficient
understanding of various relationships as well as maintaining the relationships
by employing managers. Dr. Grant should take full responsibility as leaders to
ensure workers are always challenged to find out new directions and lead the
others to positive change (James, John, James, Robert, 2012). He should
establish team leaders at all levels of the healthcare organization. The
managers at different management levels must always engage in serving as a
proactive agent.
Selecting
Decision Criteria
Dr. Grant should
initiate a decision-making process that involves defining a set of processes
that involves creating organizations that can effectively and efficiently adapt
to significantly changing circumstances. Dr. Grant should prefer the system
that will enhance management to monitor people for effective leadership. The
system must bring understanding on what organization requires accomplishing to
people by aligning to healthcare objectives, goals, and decisions (James, John,
James, Robert, 2012).
Analyzing
Evaluating Alternatives
The first alternative
is automating healthcare operations through establishing a healthcare
information system. The system will help in monitoring the performance of
employees in the health sector. The second alternative is improving the
management by recruiting new staffs to work in the various departments as team
leaders.
Selecting preferred
alternative
Through analyzing the
cost, benefits, aims, objectives as well as goals of the healthcare sector, the
most appropriate project would be developing health information system (Hull,
Athanasiou, Russ, 2017). It will enhance automation of entire healthcare sector
thus ensuring that effect is achieved.
Recommendations
The technological
advancement and improvement of healthcare sector using new technology will
involve assembling a team with enough experience and in developing healthcare
information system. Then next step shall include aligning functionalities,
needs, and requirements of the proposed healthcare information system. The
other activity will include developing the proposed system according to suit
the objectives, aims, and goals. The
final session is the implementation stage where employees are empowered to use
the system (Hull, Athanasiou, Russ, 2017).
